The primary responsibility of the Social Reassurance Volunteer Coordinator is to assist the recruiting; training; and overseeing volunteers in the implementation of recommended services or actions to goals of the social reassurance impact grant. The general scope of this grant emphasizes effo1i to provide contact and companionship with older persons by means of telephone calls; texting; skyping; video chatting; social media and other alternatives to establish the communication or contact with the older adult.
She/he will assist in developing a process to ensure timely follow up and accurate reporting practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ability to identify potential volunteers; train them regarding the grant
Train volunteers with the resources and methodology to accomplish the communication with the older adults
Develop a plan to provide contact and companionship with older persons by means of telephone calls; texting; skyping; video chatting; social media and other alternatives to establish the communication or contact with the older adult
Assure older adults receive community resources including participation in the senior activity centers by the WCF as means to socially connect with other older adults and enhance their wellness
Set monthly goals for this project and have the capacity to achieve those goals
She/he will assist in developing a process to ensure timely follow up and accurate reporting practices
Local travel within the Rio Grande Valley may be required

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in sociology, counseling, education or other related field prefen-ed or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in social service environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point
Proven solid organizational skills and multitasking abilities
Proven to possess planning, organizing, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
Proven solid skills to organize and manage a group of volunteers
This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in social services, non-profit programs, or grass roots organization
Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 10 pounds of force
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle
Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
